From 2007 to 2010, I wrote a column titled “Thinking Beyond Green” for the monthly newspaper The New Southwest (formerly Tucson Green Times). In this column, I explored sustainability in the context of the evolution–technological, cultural, and spiritual–that is necessary not only for our species to persist into the future, but for each of us to live in a way that is meaningful.
